You are unique. Each client is unique and should be treated as such. No two portfolios are the same. It is imperative that reinsurers consider each of our clients on their own merits and it is BMS duty to articulate your differentiators to the market.
Clear communication - we tell you what, where and why. In times of uncertainty, it is more important than ever to ensure that you have access to all available intelligence. You must have absolute confidence in your broking partner’s approach - and that requires transparent communication for you to make informed decisions, be that at renewal or making changes to your own appetite throughout the year.
Cross class peer review. We peer review the proposed structures and strategy across our specialisms - challenging each other to ensure there isn’t a better way. We also offer a chance for our clients to debrief with other BMS senior individuals to gauge the team’s performance - we are always looking to improve.
Claims is not an afterthought situated in the same building as the broking team with each client having designated account handlers. Claims and accounts attend our weekly team meeting – communication across our services and broking teams is paramount. We also discuss any potential changes in market and the impact that may have on claims settlement based on our team’s previous experience.
Contract building is not just part of the workflow. Our contract wording expertise sit within our broking team. Our aim is to always push for concurrent terms. We all recognise that this is not always achievable and experience is needed to navigate these contact negotiations.
