BMS, the independent insurance and reinsurance broker, today announces five appointments to its newly created accident and health (A&H) division. These appointments are based in London and will complement existing BMS A&H relationships, providing solutions without territorial or client restriction.

James Early – managing director

Early joined as managing director on the 9th of February. He joined from Miller Insurance Services LLP where he spent 18 years and built and led a team focussed on international A&H and cross class relationships. In his new role he will oversee the build out and execution of the A&H business long term strategy.

Andrew Furr – director

Furr joined on the 2nd of January. He joined from Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions where he held the role of executive director of international specialty. In his new role he will develop insurance solutions for specialist industries and complex environments.

Kevin White and Alexander Cassey – divisional directors

White and Cassey joined from Specialist Risk International and Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions respectively. White joined on the 4th of September 2025 and has more than 20 years of experience in product development across a broad range of industry sectors. Cassey joined on the 2nd of January and brought 15 years of internationally focused experience delivering bespoke insurance solutions to the role.

In their roles they focus on structuring innovative programmes suited to dealing with emerging risks and operational demands.

Paige Alston – broker

Alston joined BMS on the 13th of November 2025, and brought with her seven years of industry experience, all spent at Miller Insurance Services, where she worked as an Account Handler across both the Accident & Health and Delegated Authority teams. Alston works closely with clients and insurers to deliver clear, well-structured, and tailored solutions.

Early commented: “We are delighted to become part of such a highly respected and ambitious organisation. The team has received an exceptionally warm welcome from our new colleagues, and we are confident that BMS provides the ideal platform to achieve our strategic objectives.

BMS has already built some outstanding relationships in this space, and we are excited to contribute to the group’s continued growth. Our team brings extensive experience across a broad range of products and territories, spanning complex single-risk placements through to the management and support of large binding authorities.”

Ian Gormley, UK CEO said: “We are pleased to welcome these talented individuals to BMS. In 2025 BMS experienced impressive levels of growth and our ambition for our A&H division will be key in maintaining that momentum into 2026. Appointments of this calibre will certainly help us to execute our growth strategy.”
