BMS Group (“BMS” or “the Group”), the independent specialist (re)insurance broker, today announced the appointment of Rich Macrane as Executive Vice President, Casualty Facultative Leader. Macrane will join BMS’s Philadelphia office on June 22 and report to Pete Chandler, President and CEO of BMS’s US reinsurance arm.

Macrane will focus on building out the Casualty Facultative Practice within the US team as part of BMS’s overall expansion in the reinsurance space.

Macrane brings more than 25 years’ facultative experience in the US reinsurance market to BMS. He joined Willis Tower Watson in 2002 and progressed to a series of senior roles, most recently serving as a Managing Director of the North America team. Macrane has also been Managing Director at Kemper Insurance Company between 2000 and 2002.

Chandler said: “At a time when the market is swiftly evolving and facultative continues to become a much larger solution in bolstering treaty and program placements, BMS is constantly on the lookout for market leading talent to develop our reinsurance solutions.
Rich’s strong acumen and market knowledge will be a great asset to our ever-expanding US reinsurance platform. Complementing our previously announced hire of Larry Broadnax to lead our Property Facultative Practice, we now have two incredibly strong and well recognized industry leaders to drive our expansion into the facultative arena. We are thrilled to have Rich joining the team.”
