New Senior Vice President joins Marine & Energy team

Frank HernandezMonday 27 July 2007

BMS, a leading reinsurance intermediary, announced today that it has appointed Frank Hernandez as Senior Vice President in their Marine & Energy team.  Frank will be based in Philadelphia.

Frank Hernandez was previously at Towers Perrin as head of their Global Marine and Energy unity, and prior to that led the Marine Reinsurance division at Guy Carpenter.

“We are delighted that a broker of Frank’s diverse experience and skill set has joined us,” said Tim Paske, Director, BMS Intermediaries. “He will add further depth and breadth to our fast developing Marine & Energy reinsurance team.”

At BMS, Frank will be charged with further enhancing the team’s marine business in the U.S. market.  Last year, BMS hired another senior broker Michael Cahill, based in Shelton, Connecticut, to focus on the team’s U.S. energy business.

Frank Hernandez added, “I am very much looking forward to helping BMS build on its successes. Its philosophy of combining senior brokers who have the market weight to deliver but who still offer a high level of personal attention is a very compelling one in today’s market.”

In the last 12 months, the BMS Marine & Energy team has created capacity in the Gulf of Mexico for offshore energy business and has been instrumental in the creation and placement of four new reinsurance programs encompassing Marine & Energy business in North America.
