Founded in 1980 as an independent specialist US treaty reinsurance broker, BMS services clients from locations in London, Bermuda, Sydney and North America. It is now part of Minova Insurance Group, www.minovainsurance.com.

In the last 30 years the Group has grown both organically and by acquisition. BMS now comprises a balanced portfolio of business with combined revenues of US$93m, placing over US$1bn premium annually into world reinsurance markets.

BMS is a strong supporter of the Lloyd’s market. In 2009, US$636m of business was written in Lloyd’s and US$424m in the company market.

BMS is at the forefront of e-Commerce developments in the London Market. The Group worked with Lloyd’s on its iPad initiative and in January 2011 BMS made history by placing the first-ever fully electronic insurance contract via an iPad.
